Military Policeman at Fort Polk, then joining the Florence Police Department in 1992 where he spent 11 years as an officer and detective, investigating juvenile crimes, sex crimes, white collar crimes, property crimes and other areas.
His education during that period included crime scene investigation, gaining a thorough knowledge of field sobriety tests, gang prevention, street survival and fraud investigation forensics. Shortly after leaving the Florence Police Department, Tony acted as an investigator for criminal, civil and personal injury cases. His duties also included juror research, photography/video documentation, witness interviews, legal research and court testimony.
While building this skill set for investigation and law enforcement, Tony obtained his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and later completed his Juris Doctorate at the Birmingham School of Law. With his law degree in hand, Tony opened the solo practice Tony Hughes, P.C. His areas of focus include Criminal Defense and Family Law matters.
